Minister Çitaku hosted in a meeting the newly appointed UNDP representative in Kosovo, Mr. Andrew Russell

Prishtina, 11 November 2013 – Minister of European Integration, Vlora Çitaku hosted in a meeting Mr. Andrew Russell, representative of the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP with headquarter in Kosovo.

During the meeting with Mr. Russell, Minister Çitaku discussed recent development in Kosovo, recent process in regard to European integration such as: the progress of negotiation with EU on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), organization of free and democratic elections, improvement of neighbourly relations with Serbia, and also on the progress regarding Visa Liberalisation.

On this occasion, were also discussed joint projects which our two institutions have, such as better integration of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities into Kosovo`s society.

Minister Çitaku thanked Mr. Russell for the contribution that UNDP has given in Kosovo since after the war, and continues to give it now.  The minister also congratulated Mr. Russell on his new appointment and confirmed the support that he will have during his mandate in Kosovo.

Whereas Mr. Russell appreciated the commitments of Kosovo`s institutions to facilitate the integration of all communities into the society, a challenge that all countries of the world are dealing with.
