Prishtina, 10 March 2017. – Minister of European Integration, Ms. Mimoza Ahmetaj held a very fruitful with the Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo, Ms. Marija Kapitanović.
Croatia has been and continues to be a role model for Kosovo towards successful integration into the European Union. Also, Croatia has consistently supported Kosovo in this process, and on this occasion Minister Ahmetaj extended her gratitude to the Ambassador Kapitanović for cooperation and continued support of Croatia to Kosovo, in particular in European integration processes.
Upon this meeting, it was discussed more thoroughly the advancement in implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) since Croatia was the first country of the Western Balkans to which was applied SAA instrument and how they manage the challenges in this process. Kosovo needs Croatian experience and expertise in implementation of the SAA to serve as a guide during this process.
Current state of play in relation to the European Reform Agenda, consultations with key stakeholders to define EU programmes that Kosovo shall access, and current situation related to the visa liberalization process for Kosovo, was further discussed upon this meeting.
In this case, Minister Ahmetaj stressed the importance of connecting directly Kosovo`s institutional officials with Croatian peers in order to have a structured and concrete communication and exchange.
On her part, Ambassador Kapitanović reiterated Croatia’s readiness to extend cooperation on the European agenda, and consequently in the SAA implementation.
