In Fushe Kosova, an informational meeting was held with the citizens on visa liberalization process

Fushe Kosova, March 28, 2014 – The Ministry of European Integration, in regard to information campaign on visa liberalization process, today organized an informational meeting with the citizens of Fushe Kosova to discuss in more detail the process and criteria that Kosovo shall meet on visa liberalization. The organizations of these informational meetings are conducted in collaboration with the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo.

In regard to the comprehensive campaign on visa liberalization process, the first informational meeting was held Tuesday in Mitrovica, today in the municipality of Fushe Kosova, and in this context, the next informational meetings will be held in the municipality of Obiliq and Ferizaj.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide to citizens the opportunity to be informed and to directly communicate with the panelists, officials who are directly involved and informed on details on visa liberalization process and relevant topics, such as irregular migration and reintegration of repatriated persons.

Deputy Minister of the Ministry of European Integration, Mr. Gezim Kasapolli, was part of  today’s panel,  in order to communicate with citizens; and among others, he said: “All state structures are interested and we have an excellent cooperation with all parties involved in the process and the political field of Kosovo, but what we need to do is to cooperate even more with the citizens that they understand our ultimate goal, which is the entry on Schengen white list and until then, we must have patience and all be responsible  for an easier process.

In conclusion, Mr. Kasapolli stated “The Ministry of European Integration and institutions of Kosovo are generally available to the citizens, but we shall differentiate between needs and wishes, our wishes may be huge, but what we need to do together is to fulfill our needs in terms of social increase on the issue that traveling to the European Union be a matter of choice, not a matter of need.

The Deputy Mayor of Fushe Kosova, Mr. Jakup Tërnava, Mr. Armend Shabani from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Mr. Mentor Vrajolli, representative of civil society from Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, were present at this meeting.
