Kosovo secures €206.4 million from EU funds under IPA and WBIF

Yesterday, the European Union approved the projects proposed by Kosovo under the IPA 2026–2027 programmes, amounting to €180.5 million. These funds will support priority areas for the country, including the environment and climate action, energy, migration and border management, EU approximation and good governance, competitiveness, and the rule of law.

Approximately half of the funds will be allocated to infrastructure investments, while the remaining portion will be provided in the form of grants for institutions and technical assistance.

In addition, three grants under the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), worth €25.9 million, were also approved for the wastewater treatment plant in Podujeva (in cooperation with the EBRD), the Ibër-Lepenc hydro system, and the Qafë e Duhlës–Banullë motorway section.

These funds will strengthen our institutional capacities and further alignment with EU standards, while also bringing tangible benefits for citizens and the country’s development.
